The Mentors in Bombadil Publishing: a big part of us!

In the magnificent and marvellous world of book writing, the writers do the main work. Our young writers get inspiration and write onto the paper (or computer), giving the world a legacy for future generations. And the messages from youth to youth are in many ways a part of the new way to find a better world, an optimistic world there the young people are working together, transferring their ideas to each other by writing books with us at Bombadil Publishing.

At Bombadil Publishing we get our books out all over the world in a new and productive way since the young writers work together with our mentors throughout the entire process.

Our mentors are there all the time for the young writers, to help them to get a better vision, a better literary form, to get feedback, for inspiration. Our mentors are the final link helping to assure the quality is excellent in all ways, without in anyway losing the initial gist of the story and the soul of the author.

We at Bombadil Publishing have a lot of magnificent mentors in several countries around the world, in India, USA, Canada, England, Sweden, Spain, Chile, El Salvador and Peru, to mention just a few. Every mentor has our philosophy very clear, the Bombadil Publishing’s philosophy, which is to help the young people to give their messages of hope and faith of a better world to other young people around the world. Bombadil Publishing is proud to introduce to the worlda new mentor, the magnificent Preyer Huaman Torres, living and working in Lima, Peru, Preyer is a young man, 30 years old who has been interesting in literature in his young years back in school, he is dentist and works actively to help the people in the Peruvian Amazon to get a better life. Welcome Preyer to the Bombadil family!

Bombadil Publishing’s Journey to El Salvador

When the Bombadil Publishing’s delegation arrived to El Salvador we immediately felt the warmth of the country, which I’d left 20 long years ago; the air was very hot and I wondered how could I could have lived in such a hot place.

But immediately the Bombadil Publishing’s delegation felt another kind of warmth in El Salvador, - the people’s warmth. We had a great reception by our “Ad Honorem” collaborator and mentor, Margarita Alfaro, and a big line of people who welcomed us to this warm country as a delegation which will help the young writers in this tropical country.

Margarita had prepared a very “hot” agenda for us; we met different newspapers (both digital and analogues), radio interviewers and TV teams. I could that Marianne and Niklas were affected by the heat in El Salvador; I myself got very sick. Our Agenda, however, was very intensive and amusing. The launch of our very first Spanish book in El Salvador, “31 Cuentos Cortos” by Mario Chavez Jovel, was successful, the media coverage was splendous: TV, Newspapers and radio were all there. They wanted to now about the wonderful news Bombadil Publishing is creating around the world, the amazing news about how young people now have the opportunity to be read, the opportunity to write about themselves, the opportunity to be listened to, the opportunity for young people who want to transmit their ideas to other young people… and adults too of course.

We want to send our thanks to all the people whom worked together with us on this marvelous journey to Latin America, specially to Margarita Alfaro in El Salvador, and to our mentor in Peru, Maggy Jacinto. They really are Bombadilians who spread the Bombadil Publishing feeling to young people from the entire world.

Travelling and an empty HQ

Our grand travellers have now left for Latin America and the office feels rather empty frankly, it´s quieter and a bit darker for some reason. The only advantage as I see it is the fact that I can play music as loud as I want. Without disturbing a single soul. Mari´s office is too far away for her to be disturbed ;)

There are a lot of things for Marianne, Niklas and Melvin to do, they are meeting up with the minister of culture in El Salvador and I think a dinner with the president was on the schedule too. (Correct me if I´m wrong)Further they are visiting an orphanage and Melvin mother even! In Peru the release of our two new Spanish titles will be held and hopefully lots and lots of press will be there to acknowledge the authors and their great books! But, back to Sweden... The office is empty and the Bombadil dog Pixie is a bit worried about the fact that Marianne is not here, but Pixie is in good hands with the rest of the Bombadil staff. She spent last night wakening up poor Mattias and apparently she really enjoyed jumping up and down in his bed, whilst he was trying to sleep after dropping our grand travellers in Örebro to catch their coach to the airport. He mentioned something about snoring too, I just can´t recall if he was talking about himself or the dog. Since she is staying with me the coming week I think I will invest in a pair of ear plugs, just to be on the safe side.

During the time Marianne, Niklas and Melvin is gone the Bombadil work in the Bombadil office continues as usual. And we have a new project to start up, which we need all our readers, mentors and authors to participate in! We want to have pictures of people all over the world photographing themselves wearing Bombadil t-shirts for our new "Bombadil all over the world"-photo album. So if you happen to have a Bombadil t-shirt, take a photograph in front of something that is typical or representative for your country and send it to us! I for example; I would probably have my picture taken whilst sitting on an elk (?) or strolling around in a great forest... Yeah something like that.
