rain, rain, rain and food

Hello you all

Well today it has been a rainy day here in Gyttorp (Nora), hmmm not so funny at all. As you now know I prefer sun and warmth so today was not "my" day. Unfortunately this weather comes with the autumn. You(I) can´t be out as much as you(I) want, well you can if you have good raining clothes. Hmm my rain trousers are leaking :-(, actually I need some new raining clothes. Today I didn´t bike to work, I did go by car (not me driving) that was okej. But I like to bike even when it´s raining, well no to much. I can the road so well, so I bike that way by routine and can think about whatever comes in my mind. And sometimes I totally forget where I´m actually is going so it has happen that I have bike a bit to far from the road I should turn at :-)):-)). It´s nice that actually be able to so totally "let go" of what you are doing and actually think or just let out and clean your mind.

Rain, rain, rain.........

Foooood. Today I and the rest of Bombadil crew did some food together, well Sara and I did the most of it :-)). It was on Monday I think that I got that idea to make food to us all, sometimes I do get some bright ideas :-)). It was fun and it is always better and nicer taste on the food when you actually has done it and can eat it straight away. Normally I have food with me and warm it upp in the microwave, and it do lost some taste when you do like that not all food but a lot. What had I decided to make then? Well I had something in mind and actually did it. It is a kind of fish "pot". It contains at least two different kind of fish, apple, paprika, long leak, cream and some other stuff. To that we had rice and a nice salad with cucumber, salad, radishes and some herbs from my small greenhouse. The rest in the sallad was from the store.
It's nice to do things like this together once in a while, maybe we will do this some more times. we will see.

I will end with these words. They are meant for an animal (dog) but I think it actually can be for a human being too.

"Don´t walk in front of me because I may not follow.
Don´t walk behind me because I may not lead.
Just walk beside me and be my friend".
~Albert Camus

bye bye

The Bombadil family is growing and growing!

Well, our dear family is expanding all the time, as we could read a few days ago; Matthias is our last acquisition as co-worker at our office in Gyttorp. But in the international side are we growing too, a lady from Peru, Maggy Jacinto, has started as a mentor and proofreader, as well, in our family, she had experience of office and printing work and she is mother of two young girls back in Peru, I want to welcome Maggy in the name of all Bombadilians and we´ll see toward new adventures together in our wonderful world of books, our world of writing, our world of creating and building a different world, a better one, there all the young people around the world have the possibility to express them self and show the world that the young people can create a new better world… and want too.

Maggy Jacinto Salazar.

And we got several fresh writers from Colombia and Venezuela, young people who inspire other young writers, and older of course, all around the world, and the marvelous felling to be part of this family get me this sensation difficult to describe, but easy to understand for everybody in our expanding family. Come together everybody and get this feeling, the Bombadil feeling and be part of this wonderful world all around us, the Bombadil World! YOUTH TO YOUTH.

Competitive coffee

Bombadillians are not by their nature fiercely competitive, but an element of competition is never a bad thing. Sara has been laughing at me for quite some time now because I am in possession of a very small USB memory stick, whereas she has a 2 GB memory stick. Well, today I am laughing because my new 16GB memory stick has arrived. It's rather funny though, I remember having a computer with a 1GB hard drive, and the hard drive was an optional extra.

Our author school video is finished and up on Youtube. We had a lot of fun making it; it was a lot more scripted than the shorts (we even drew a storyboard for it). See it here:

The Media Centre cafe is being planned at the moment, but that hasn't stopped me campaigning for a pub. I'm not holding out much hope, but you never know. But the point is, you're all invited for a cup of hot, inspiring Bombadil coffee one of these days.

In other news, the Bombadil dog currently smells like socks. Again...

I am very excited to be here! In this beautiful town, Gyttorp, in the middle of Sweden, it's like paradise, among several deep blue lakes, and the spring is running to us together with the sunshine. But I'm so happy to be in this Blog too, and be a part of this great family Bombadil.

A girl from Argentina amazed me with her starting of a book, and another girl, from my own dear country, El Salvador, put a little bit of emotion in my marvellous life; both girls wrote about feelings, both wake up inside me a lot feelings that I thought I had forget, my tears want to run out but I could stop them in time. Silly me.

This Saturday will my dear work colleague Sara will read poetry in the city of Trollhattan and all the Bombadil family will be there to hear Sara, this is something we look toward. This morning I woke up when two big, shining white swans played in the lake beside my bedroom and I was happy, usually I get mad when I wake that early in the morning, but this two swans sounds very happy and I can't avoid to be contagious by their play and like this two swans playing I really hope that you young people will playing with Bombadil. See you next week Bombadilians!

Monday, glorious Monday!

Typical Monday today, greyish, soppy weather. The air tastes a bit like dust for some reason and the sun is refusing to come out. As usual I´ve been up a bit to early to drive up to Gyttorp from my hometown Trollhättan. The only thing that is a bit unusual is the fact that my brother came with me this mornong! His name is Erik and has just turned 15, he will spend the week with the Bombadil staff to do his work practice. He has already managed to re-do the layout of the Swedish startpage on the website and got himself a Bombadil hoodie. Not bad, I would say. As his mentor I intend to make him work, a lot. At least one power point presentation and som filming for our shorts. Since we only speak English this is a great opportunity for him to practice speaking English, he is already really brilliant and according to our dear mother, his spelling is better in English than Swedish...Interesting indeed.

On wednesday parts of the Bombadilian team is going to a college in Kinna (south of Sweden) to be interviewed by the students, well exciting!! Gonna be lots of fun to get away from the computer and meet some interested youth.

Another great thing that is happening right now is the preparations of World book day! We will have some different activities during this day and the main thing in Sweden is the "Library-book" as I have chosen to call it. The thought is to get the Swedish libraries more interactive, so we have decided to encourage people to send submissions to Bombadil: poems, novels, short stories etc. The topic is "Me&books" and you will submit through your local library, and then we will Publish the swedish "library-book". The whole event is finishing on the 23rd of April on world book day. So yeah, we've got some great things coming up. During the spring we will be visiting bookshops, poetry festivals etc. so stay tuned!

All for now,
Yours truly

Joey Tempest saved the day, kind of.

Monday, oh bloody Monday.
It´s a windy day in Gyttorp today, not just regular windy, but like orcane-windy. Someone should probably declare a storm-warning quite soon. I wouldn´t mind a small storm, loosing electricity for a couple of hours, I really wouldn´t mind. As long as it´s a warm and cosy storm, unfortunately it´s not, it´s a very cold "storm" as matter of fact. It´s a Monday-storm. Hidious and cold.
So imagine the wind blowing outside, it´s dark and everytime you walk outside the door it´s like a raw, cold hand is taking you by the throat. You´re in the middle of nowhere in the deep Swedish woods and you are trying your best to manage a website that isn´t really in the mood to be managed.Plus it´s Monday, oh bloody Monday.
I´ve managed to paint a pretty sad picture haven´t I?
Then imagine that your workmate is popping by your office with a framed Joey Tempest-poster! I can hardly describe the warmth that went through my negative, black heart at that very instant. I could compare it to having warm sand between your toes in the summer, or the first ride on your bike in the spring. Warmth, and a happy giggily feeling, that sort of feeling that blow your so called problems away.
So todays input is all about my great appriciation of Joey Tempest.
- Thank you Joey Tempest for making me realise that website-problems will aren´t impossible to solve(at least if you phone the nice support-guy, Andreas).

This is Sara Karlsson Monday-blogging for Bombadil Publishing, now with a smile on her face.
